Outsurance - Refuse to Fix My Vehicle
My name is Micheal Ngubeni. In October my Car had a mechanical problem (engine failure) and I called OUTsurance since the Car is insured with. The agent that is/was assisting me with the claim is Tshego Thekiso. The Agent told me to send all the correspondence to claims@***.co.za and I did just that. The car was taken to BMW for assessment in Kempton Park and the quote was send to OUTsurance, however at later stage it was taken to Martin Motor Sport in Johannesburg cause of higher quote at BMW. Martin Motor Sport made their assessment and were given a permission to fix the car. The vehicle was strip-off by Martin Motor Sport in October. OUTsurance made reversal or cancel for the vehicle to be fixed. This decision by OUTsurance for not fixing the Vehicle does not sit well with me since Martin Motor Sport has already strip-off. Its December now and no solution has been made to fix the vehicle. Now Im told that I have to pay for myself, and I dont understand the reason behind this cause Im paying insurance every month even though its still this current situation. I tried all possible solutions to solve this problem with OUTsurance. Martin Motor sport has now request me to take the vehicle out of their premises since the OUTsurance changed their pre agreement with them. Now Im stuck with OUTsurance that refused to honour their agreement.

I managed to get my bank to reverse both STOP ORDERS. Outsurance... I want nothing to do with you in the future!

I took out a policy with outsurance and less than a few days later, I asked for it to be canceled. An agent called me and said policy would be cancelled. 2 months later, they go and debit my account. When I call to demand my money, they tell me I will be refunded. Instead of refunding me, they go and debit me again!!! And their refund process is crap as well. I am potentially sitting with a bad month just because Outsurance has gone and stolen R9K from me! I regret entertaining the thought of moving to Outsurance!

Dishonest customer service complaint

Yesterday, 23/2/24, I spoke to a lady who said she was a manager and her name was Aphiwe, if that's her really name, regarding my premium refund due to policy cancellation. She told me I would only get refunded on 24/3/24 much to my expressed shock.She quickly changed the story and said that I could only be refunded if I sent my bank statement. Why she didn't say that right away, is only my guess. She then spelled out her email address which was also positively verified by her to send my bank statement to facilitate the refund. The statement was sent as agreed, but sadly the email address was incorrect, and the email was rejected. I suspect she did that deliberately. She wasn't transparent and honest in our discussion and was treating me like someone who she could take advantage of. What I don't appreciate is that this will require me to start the whole process afresh after so much time was wasted in her trying to convince me not to cancel yet she came back with an offer that was still double what the competitor had offered. I have great respect for Outsurance. They've been very reliable and good to me over many years except that the premium was now beyond my affordability.

Dishonest service

I suspect she did that deliberately. She wasn't transparent and honest in our discussion and was treating me like someone who she could fool, much to my very strong resentment. I don't appreciate that I need to start the process all over again since she took so much time trying to convince me not to cancel the policy but still offered me double what I am paying with their competitor. I really have great respect for Outsurance, and they've been reliable to me over may years. This was only a matter of affordability.

No communication / unresolved issue

I'm appalled by the non- communication from Outsurance regarding our plumbing claim. Our claim number is 36710****. I also have a call ref number, 14027****. To cut a long story short - we called you about a blockage in our sewer pipes in December . Our plumber was not on your list so you sent another one. He tried to unblock it with rods and when he couldn't he claimed it was a collapsed line ( no camera used ). Later on the blockage actually dispersed . But about a week later while outside I noticed near the portal ( not where the blockage was)., that *** had appeared and water was rising. I certainly didn't want him back here so I phoned my plumber ( Greenz ) who came and checked and indeed *** had been punctured near the opening of the portal where your plumber had pushed his rods in. I was forced to cough up R2 500 for them to fix the cracked hole section. There was NO collapsed line. We provided photos etc to Shana Lee Bailey who said she would contact Greenz Plumbing who would attest to what had happened and... NOTHING! So paid for a plumber to come out but it ended up costing me much more to fix his slipup. I'm very disappointed in Outsurance and am now seriously considering changing companies.

Additional vehicle to be insured

Good day I had requested a quote via the App for the addition of this vehicle I am buying and expect the transporter to collect in Joburg this week. I have had no response from Outsurance. I work in Sudan and am unable to contact you by phone. I require email correspondence. I am only reachable by email or WhatsApp.

User's recommendation: My daughters case was investigated and it was found that the towing contractor damaged her car whilst towing. After showing management the before and after photos, they agreed to pay the claim, with only the glass excess applying and not the full excess as previously. I was impressed with the speed that the complaint was resolved.

Good afternoon Outsurance I herewith want to bring something to your attention that I dont understand?? I watch your TV adds for car insurance that is so CHEAP. Even a FORTUNER is under R 1000.00. Now my question today isHOW DO YOU DO THIS? I am 62 years old, and never was in a big accident, only small damages (once) to my car, my driving record is 100% But still my premium for a small TOYOTA STARLETT is over R 1000.00. The access on my last claim was over R 5000.00 and the damage was just over R 7000.00 I cancelled my insurance with you because I got a cheaper one for R 745.30 for the same cover I had with you, and there is no access on windscreen replacements.
